The Heritage Players is a Miramichi theatre group dedicated to preserving and presenting the Miramichi’s rich culture and heritage of stories and music that can be appreciated by today’s audience.

How it all started
The group came together in late 2006, putting on the first production of “The Legend of the Dungarvon Whooper” in July of 2007. The group has since done the “Whooper” play 16 more times from Boisetown to Napan, and many points in between. Tied at second place in popularity, at 5 productions each, are “Grammy Grace – A Midwife’s Tale” and “An Evening with Michael Whelan – The Poet of Renous”. Other shows that we have done include “In This Corner…The Yvon Durelle Story”, “What’s To Come – Beaubear’s Island”, “Christmas in the Lumber Camp”, “Peter Emberley”, “The Last Word”, “Ballywampus”, “The Very Best – Tales of the Miramichi”, “The Secret of Connor Murphy”, "John Connell - Come Back and Get Your Moose", "Joe Smith - Outlaw Poet of Renous", and "A Mountain School Christmas", which was written by Valerie Stewart, along with "Grammy Grace". There have been 5 playwrights emerge with more on the way.
